Welcome to Salt Water Junkie!

Hi, my name is Mary-Lyn (ML) for short. My journey began with a simple desire to work from home, which I am still working on! :)
I have always felt a pull towards my artistic side and wanted to make something with my hands. About a year ago, I made some beeswax wraps for my family as Christmas presents and loved the process.

I dove a bit deeper into things and started a business making and selling 100% cotton Beeswax Food Wraps made with quality ingredients sourced in our own province or within Canada.

My wraps are made with organic Jojoba oil, Beeswax & Pine Rosin. A love for nature and sustainability inspired me to expand my offerings to include beautiful natural gemstone bracelets, and since than, lip chap, Bowl & Board butter, and I am working on something else at the moment so stay tuned! :)

Living a life committed to growing and harvesting from our garden, I understand the importance of preserving nature, but also living with it and making sure our contribution to this planet has more pluses then minus's

This commitment drove me to develop my beeswax food wraps, designed to help reduce plastic waste while keeping your food fresh and flavorful. I believe that small changes can make a big impact; these products reflect that philosophy.

I also feel like I should explain the name "Salt Water Junkie" as it doesn't have much to do with beeswax wraps you may think..... BUT it does. My dad was born and raised on the East Coast, New Brunswick to be exact. I have many friends and family who are still there. He passed away a few years ago, around the same time that I was feeling a little unsettled in my career path. I have a deep love for the ocean, traveling as much as possible to enjoy the salt, sand and sea air, so Salt Water Junkie just seemed to fit.

Beeswax wraps are not just food wraps, they cut down on single use plastic in a BIG way which in the long run helps our oceans. So they have a lot to do with the Ocean, environment and sustainability on so many levels.
